“Will You Still Need Me When I’m Ninety-Four?”
The sense of belonging to a family crosses cultural boundaries, ethnicity and gender and is one of he most essential human needs on earth. Older adults experience changes that affect family dynamics including communication among family members, authority, power, beliefs, and values.
Misunderstanding can occur when unique family stories are discounted, customs and traditions are not held in high esteem and when older adults lose their value in the family structure.
In this workshop diversity and multigenerational issues will take on new dimensions as participants explore the role of caregivers in creating dynamic, healing pathways for older adults.
Fee of $60.00 (includes lunch); Fee of $75.00 after June 1, 2012 or at the door.

Queer Film Series: “(A)sexual”
The Queer Film Series is a monthly film series featuring documentaries about the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community. Films take place on Wednesdays at 7pm in Gallagher Theatre, and each screening is followed by a guest speaker. All films are free.
Facing a sex obsessed culture, a mountain of stereotypes and misconceptions, and a lack of social or scientific research, asexuals – people who experience no sexual attraction—struggle to claim their identity.
(A)sexual follows the growth of a community that experiences no sexual attraction. In 2000, David Jay came out to his parents. He was asexual and was fine with it. And he was not alone. Studies show that 1% of the population is asexual. But in a society obsessed with sex, how do you deal with life as an outsider? Combining intimate interviews, verite footage, and animation with fearless humor and pop culture imagery, David and our four other characters grapple with this universal question and the outcomes might surprise you.

Queer Film Series: “Genderf*kation*
The Queer Film Series is a monthly film series featuring documentaries about the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community. Films take place on Wednesdays at 7pm in Gallagher Theatre, and each screening is followed by a guest speaker. All films are free.
Genderf*kation: A Gender Emancipation is the story of six individuals and their journey & triumphs through the social, religious and political landscapes of a society that struggles to understand or allow for gender variations. This documentary includes provocative interviews with professionals and outreach members who are active in this community to help shed light on a very controversial matter. This film breaks through the gender stereotypes and historical gender ideologies to liberate our bodies, minds and spirits from our own social Gender Dysphoria. Although it is based in Minnesota, the subject matter has no borders. The subject of gender is a taboo topic in many societies, yet fundamental to every aspect of all of our lives. Forget everything you think you know about gender and experience a GENDERF*KATION!
